  • Notes – One of the earliest rock cut architecture.
    • The name Thoonaandavar is given because of two pillars present in front of the temple.
    • There is a Nataraja sculpted and considered one of the earliest representations in dancing posture. The posture is not considered to be Ananda Thaandavam as there is no muyalagan at the Lord’s feet. the snake at his feet is Karkodagan and the karanam(transitional doing) is called ‘Bhujangathraasa’.
