* Kachaba + eesan shiva worshipped by koorma avatar of Vishnu
* The temple houses a Swayambu lingam made of sandstone.
* This temple finds mention in 7th century book – Thandialankaaram, a book about Tamil grammar. Composed by Thandi supposedly son of Ambikapathy (son of Kambar)
* Naerisai venba songs have been sung on this temple.
* Ishta siddhi teertham or korma teertham is temple pond.
* Legend of Ishta siddhi teertham –
sukracharya got the Mrithasanjeevini mantra after praying to Ishtasiddheeswarar and bathing in this teertham. Thatheechi rishi got strong after praying here.
Maavilakku utsavam done by devotees is speciality in this temple. This temple has separate sannidhis for suryadeva and surya sthothram is inscribed on the walls as per kanchi mahaperiyava instructions.
