- Notes:
* The temple is one among the three oldest Vishnu temples-Thirupaadagam
* Pada-huge and agam-residence. Krishna took huge form(vishwaroopa) while he visited Duryodhana camp to talk on behalf of Pandavas
* Janamejayan wanted to see Krishna as the messenger and did Ashvamedha yaagam to see him in that form.
* A special sannidhi for AruLaala Peruman Emperumaanaar/Devaraja Muni is found here. One of the prominent sishyas. He was an advaithi who was defeated in debate by Swami Ramanujar. The debate happened for 18 days. At the end of 16th day.
