- Devas worship Shiva to bring about a son who will kill Asuras.
Shiva brings forth his power but Devas are not able to bear the heat of his power. He asks them to pray in this temple to cool down their body. - Kuberan worshipped Shiva here and there is a 5ft high statue of Kuberan present in sanctum and Goddess Lakshmi is on his head waiting to bless.
- Milagu Rasam is offered here as prasadam and supposed to cure all fevers when consumed.
