Vedithu Koodiya vasisteeshwarar Temple

- The Linga had a crack and then came back to shape. So it is given name, vedithu koodiya Vasishteshwarar Lingam.
- The Lingam is one of the seven as worshipped by the Sapta Rishis.
- These temples are called Sapta Sthaana Sthalams of Kanchipuram
- Shiva narrated the greatness of Kanchi and sent seven rishis namely Angeeresar, Athri, Kutchar, Kashyapar, Bhargavar, Vasishtar and Gauthamar.
